Before we can process post for you, we need to verify your identity

All providers of mailbox services such as scanmypost are required under UK Anti Money Laundering regulations to ensure that we make appropriate checks on our customers before doing business with them. This is done at when you sign up to use our services and is similar to the checks that banks undertake when you open an account. We are also required to submit any suspicious activity on your account, once it is up and running, to the National Crime Agency (NCA).

In order to verify your personal details we will require two forms of verification. One should be a form of photographic ID:

  • Passport
  • Drivers Licence
  • National ID Card

The second document is required to verify your home address. This must include your name and full address and be dated within the last 3 months. We can accept the following documents:

  • Bank statement
  • Credit card statement
  • Utility bill
  • Mobile phone bill

The checks we make when you sign up may vary depending on the extent and type of services you use at scanmypost. These checks are routine. We try to make our checks as painless as possible for you and most of our customers take comfort from the care we take to ensure that our services are carefully vetted and regulated.

We are not able to accept new customers who are known to be Politically Exposed Persons, (PEP) or on any of the several government Sanctions Lists. We make checks of these databases automatically when you sign up.
